GREETINGS EVERYONE!
Welcome to the Galway Lake Sailing Club as we celebrate our 2023 racing season on Galway Lake. This year marks our 71st year as a sailing club and promises to be a fun-filled year for the Club.
We kick off the summer season on June 24th with an on-the-water show featuring a Scottish bagpipe and drum duo performance, a first of its kind on Galway Lake. We offer you a chance to race during the Commodore’s Tune-Up Regatta on June 24th and June 25th. It’s a great opportunity to experience the joys and excitement of racing if you haven’t tried it before. It’s also a chance for seasoned skippers to tune up their boats. Check the 2023 Racing & Other Events Schedule in this and subsequent Mainsheets for dates and times for Blue Fleet racing.
The Catamaran and Sunfish regattas are back! So is the Sunfish Moonlight regatta. If you have a Sunfish that you’re not using, let us know if you would consider loaning it out. Look for sign-ups for the On-The-Water Starting Line Racing Clinic and Introduction to Sailing.
Sailing Club events include picnics and Commodore debriefings. We’re looking forward to community events that include a Geological & Ecological Tour and Talk held on water and on-land, a Storytelling Event, Mardi Gras Boat Parade, and Fishing Tournament.

Mainsheet will contain important information and updated changes and additions about sailing, racing clinics, and other events.Please consider supporting the Club by purchasing a membership whether you sail or view from shore. As a member, you will be invited to all Sailing Club activities. Memberships help pay for various costs associated with running a sailing club. Membership and waiver forms may also be found on the website, Facebook page or sent to you by email.
